*sigh* Oh, well...
It was too good to last...

My laptop hasn't crashed, but it's not exactly functioning well, either. After tenatively testing my returned laptop for the previously reported problems and finding it stable, I decided to start installing some of the peripherals. That's when things took a dive.

I tried to install my Wacom Graphire tablet... and find
that the setup program couldn't find the tablet, whose power indicator light blinked rather than be steadily lit like the setup instructions wanted. What followed was 4 more hours of testing ports, drivers, controllers, etc., and finding that I couldn't get any USB peripheral to install. *SIIIIGH*

Considering my frustration, I decided to let it drop and come upstairs to my desktop and play some games as a distraction.... until once again, my desktop couldn't hack URU and crashed. But at least I got a good 15 minutes of play in beforehand.

It feels like both my computers are 80% functional, and I'm too poor to fix either.

Current Mood: depressed depressed
Current Music: (the hum of fans and power feedback over speakers)

I don't think URU is particularly stable on any system so I don't think it reflects badly on the desktop machine. Sometime mine will run all day while I run other programs too; other times it will crash every 10 to 15 minutes. Then I wish I could rename Relto to Re-do.

Very engaging game though.

Mwrf. I feel your pain... Quite literally, though it's more a case of network problems getting in my way. You know a few people who know computers, though. Have someone do a little informal troubleshooting... You never know; it might just be a driver problem.
