A few flitting thoughts and news...
As thunderstorms light up the night sky, I sit here exploring Kong Studios, home of the Gorillaz. They just released their second album, Demon Days, which I'm hoping to pick up after the con.  If I'm really good, I'll get their DVD as well. It's got all the videos from their first album, yay!

In other news, it looks like I'll be heading back to school this August (crossing fingers!). I went to the doctor and had a physical done as required by the CIA (New York State has some rather specific requirements for vaccinations for students, especially ones in the culinary field) and now I get to hunt down ways to cover the costs of tuition and housing.

And last, but not least, I've been going to Curves for almost two months now.  While I haven't lost any weight, I have noticed some positive effects: more energy, more stamina, less asthma attacks.  The last one is very good news for me, as environmental factors like the current thunderstorm were triggers for it.  So I can enjoy the pretty lightshow and even the humidity tonight and I'm not coughing up a lung. Definitely an improvement.

Current Mood: calm calm

I'm incredibly happy that you can go back to school! That must be a relief!

Since you PLAN on buying it...

I bought it on iTunes, I'd be willing to burn a disk and leave it with Bennie to get to you so you have the music before you buy it. :) I'm planning on getting the DVD myself soon.

Great news:) Very glad to hear you can resume your studies, and that your foot is finally healed:)

... in regard to Curves and excercise: remember that lean muscle weighs more than fat... so check the fit of your clothes etc. Since you're getting more energy and stamina and the like, I would suspect that your body is doing what mine does - an end-run fat-to-muscle conversion. Go girl!

Never heard any of their music before. I'll give them a listen later.

And it's cool that you are getting back to school again. I'd wondered what happened with that.

Congratulations indeed on going back to school -- I definitely wish you much luck with that! I presume all your old credits are still good, so you're not starting from scratch?

Lemme know if you want to borrow the new Gorillaz disc at AC, I'll be glad to bring it with me. My early impression is that it's not quite as good as the first, but still listenable -- Dangermouse (of "Grey Album" fame) is an ample replacement for Dan Nakamura, but there aren't really any tracks that stand out as much as the high points of the first album and I really miss Miho Hatori).

And on the subject of Curves -- while you may not care one way or the other (God knows I can't seem to stop eating at Chik-Fil-A when I get the chance), you should be aware that the company's founder has some pretty strong ties to some rather regressive causes. Like I said, make of it what you will; I'm honestly not sure what to think of it myself.

Curves founder

Honestly? Mr. Gary Heavin, creator of Curves, can do whatever he likes with his money -- because it's his *personal* funds, not corporate funds, that he's using for his causes. I read that snopes article and it confirmed what I suspected. It's sad that he holds such narrow views of the world, but it's his right to have them.

I didn't stop eating at Carl's Jr. after finding out Carl Karcher disowned his gay son and paid into regressive groups, either.

Glad to hear you'll be getting back into CIA! I wish you all the best of luck. And I think that the visits to curve are showing positive signs, then, if the energy and stamina- and likely strength- are up, you're more fit regardless of weight. :)
