And now for something completely different...
I acknowledge that this sprang from the button brainstorm on koogrr's LJ a while back.  I've made four so far, and will likely make another four in time for the con.

I don't like to be snippish, so many of the more explicit derogatory put-downs listed are just too mean-spirited for me.  Buttons work best with a minimum of words; succinct witisms catch the eye long enough for the meaning to get through.  Too many words, and the button becomes a blurred shape rather than a sharp slogan.  I also don't like the old SF-con Badge-A-Minit style handwritten slogan on construction paper, which is why I'm doing these on the computer in color.

We'll see how well these will go over.

I did cynical stuff last AC (though, admittedly, not quite as good as these) and they amazingly didn't sell

EX-PERIMENT! EX-PERIMENT!

I like the "Pencil" one.

I still have my "Shut Up Mitch" button.
I wonder if Mitch will be at AC.
An e-mail sent to him has gone unreplied to.
A phone call to his place yielded a different answering message.
If you see Mitch, tell him to contact me and give me his new info.
He can drop me a line at zrath at toast dot net.
Tell Mitch that "French Fry" is looking for him.
He will know it's me. (grin)

(I'm French Fry, he's Fat Rat, we're cops.)

I like like the one I wrote! ;) You picked just the right font for it, too. Will have to purchase some o' these. :)

And yeah, most of the ideas kicked about in that thread were a bit too mean, and/or long. Good choices thus far.
