Christmas Wishlist, part 1
Maybe I'll rebuild my Wishlist webpage someday, but in the meantime, here's something I've been drooling over ever since I saw one at a demonstration at school.

Wusthof Santoku Knife Set

What's a whimper, the Wusthof rep at the school was doing knife sharpening and had on his table a custom 8" Chef's Knife with our CIA logo engraved on one side and set in a bamboo case... which costs just about the same price as this set. But I've wanted a Santoku for several years now, and I already have a chef knife by Wusthof...

*sigh*

Santokus are nice, but they ain't *all* that. I know, I use one as my main knife.. and it's great for vegetable prep, but a good chef's knife is a smidgen more versatile.

If you do want a Santoku, I like mine: http://www.macknife.com/superior.html , the SK-65. http://www.cutleryandmore.com/details.asp?SKU=8084 has it for sale for $50, which is what I paid for mine; It's light, wicked comfortable, got a bomb-diggety review from Cook's Illustrated (Do you subscribe to that magazine? Or watch America's Test Kitchen?).

Now, there's no spiffy case, but you'll be stuffing that thing into a Knife roll or toolbox anyway, unless it's a home knife. In which case it'll be in a drawer. ;)
