My turn for the accent test...
What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

The Inland North

This is interesting because I have never lived in the Midland area, I don't even have family there.  I was too young when I left southern Florida to pick up anything there, I grew up in southern California and spent the last 10 years in northern Jersey.  Then again, I grew up listening to my father's gentle tidewater Virginia accent (faded by time, but still recognizable) and my mom's northern Ohio-warped-by-years-in-Buffalo accent.

Maybe, the 'accent that is not an accent'  is the two coastal accents cancelling each other out? :D

Either a tag or bracket was lost somewhere, or your post entry method of choice isn't set up to recognize HTML. Big mess of code. :)

No offense, but I was right in the middle of figuring that out when you posted. I think I know that. All fixed now.

I figured you'd know how to fix it, meant more to bring it to your attention. Sorry to imply offense.

I got the same result...

...and didn't bother to post the meme out of confusion. I haven't lived in the Midland area and I would assume I have a "California" accent.::shrugs::

Re: I got the same result...

Which makes me curious as to what the quiz-maker considers "The West"'s accent. Then again, they only list 7 accent regions and I'm pretty sure that's an overly broad generalization (For instance, Virginia and Georgia are both 'southern accents' but there's a rather large difference in their patterns -- let alone Texan drawl being different from anything else).

Re: I got the same result...

Somehow, I ended up with "The West" accent. I suppose living in CA all these years had its (deleterious?) effect...

Maybe you just listed to a lot of talk radio and pick up some of that.
