Happy Perihelion and all that...
I have always preferred natural events as points of celebration rather than any religious concepts, and so my usual wishes around December-January have been "Merry Solstice and a Happy Perihelion". While most folks know what and when the Winter Solstice is, very few seem to know about Perihelion. Perihelion is the point in Earth's orbit where it is physically closest to the sun, which happens around or near January 4th. This year Perihelion was on January 2nd. I was born a space-nut, and a space-nut I remain. :)

Our health insurance has decided to charge us more on our co-pay and cover less on perscriptions, which was an unpleasant shock to me as I've had to pick up several medications in the past few days... refills on some, meds for post-op, etc. I still have to see my cardiologist and then it's foot surgery time, and I just spent the last of my money on picking up said meds today. *sigh* It's times like these I wish I would win a lottery, just to get these nuissances off my back. But, of course, that's just a pipe dream.

Needless to say, I won't be attending Further Confusion this year. I can only hope that this year will be enough of an improvement over last year that I'll be able to make it out to FC next January... I miss seeing my Left Coast friends, and I want to get back to NoCal at every possible opportunity. I miss Cali, warts and all.

Sorry we won't be seeing you at the con, ermine. I hope you can make it next year.

*nuzz* Check your options! You never know what you might find. Nor, for that matter, what might happen.

Also, Perihelion sounds way too magical to be astronomical!

I'm with Vikitten on this, as much of a surprise this insurance drama maybe there maybe some resolution to surprise you in return.

For the Perihelion thing, that *kinda* explains why it's so hot on my island even though we've gotten two all day rains.

Foot surgery? Again? What's up, sweeting? Sounds like your feetsies are giving you the down for the count! And you said in a missive to me "once I can draw again..." Is something else amiss?

Love you, squeekers. :D *hugs*
